Registering DPO Information
Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) Singapore are sending out email by batches to all CorpPass administrator to encourage all organisations to register the Data Protection Officer (DPO) information with PDPC via ACRA BizFile by 30 September 2024.
Under the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), it is mandatory for all organisations to (a) appoint a DPO to be responsible for ensuring compliance with the PDPA; and (b) make the DPO’s business contact information available to the public by registering the DPO information with PDPC via ACRA BizFile+.
DPO should ideally be:
- A member of the senior management or have direct reporting line to senior management
- Sufficiently skilled, knowledgeable and amply empowered to drive data protection policies and practices in the organization.
